Happy 419 Day! If you are from Toledo, then you know that it’s not just April 19th -- it’s 419 Day! It is time to celebrate everything in the 419.
Start your day off with a fresh brew at Maddie and Bella’s or Rustbelt Coffee. If breakfast is what you crave, then Michael’s Bar and Grill or Fowl and Fodder will fill you up. After you are fueled up, head over to Jupmode to pick up your 419 gear for the day.
In the mood to shop? Make sure you visit Handmade Toledo for locally made items, Architectural Artifacts for great finds for your home or Paula Brown Shop for housewares and unique gifts.
Take some time to indulge in the arts at the
Toledo Museum of Art by experiencing the exhibition "Katherine Gray: (Being) in a Hotshop." Check out a glassblowing demonstration in the TMA Glass Pavilion, or attend a "Celebrate Earth Day" event with the family.
If you're looking to spend some time outdoors you can walk the trails at
Middlegrounds Metropark, or grab a bike from
ToleGO and explore the city. For indoor fun on the waterfront, visit
Imagination Station, the hands-on science museum for interactive activities the whole family will enjoy.
Now that you have worked up a thirst, head over to
Maumee Bay Brewing for an ice cold Glasshopper and many other great brews or
Ye Olde Durty Bird for a cold drink and some live music on the patio.
For all of you sports fans, Fifth Third Field is where the action will be as the
Mud Hens take on the Columbus Clippers. Make sure you pick up a Mud Hen's souvenir at the
Swamp Shop.
It's impossible to check out all of the amazing festivities that our city has to offer in just one day! For a full weekend of 419 fun, head over to the
Toledo City Paper and view the Thursday-Saturday line up.
Enjoy your day in the 419!
