Old Orchard is named after the vast orchards located in the area prior to its 1920s development. The neighborhood has a simple grid plat with many streets ending at a grassy island. With much of the area being built in the 20s-30s, the homes tend to be gorgeous English Tudor style. Large estates sit along Kenwood Boulevard, the bisecting main road through Old Orchard.
The borders of Old Orchard end roughly at Secor, Central, and Douglas. Ottawa Hills borders the west end while the University of Toledo sits to the neighborhood's south. UT was founded in 1872 and moved to its current location in 1931. Click here for information on Old Orchard neighborhood associations.
